C# 2.0 / .NET 2.0 Visual Studio 2005 BootCamp - July 17-21, 2006, Boston

Registration is now open (initial seating limited to 10) for our new C# 2.0 / .NET 2.0 BootCamp, to be held July 17-21, 2006 at Microsoft's Boston offices. This class is for software developers who are new to the .NET Framework, and want to start with C# 2.0, .NET 2.0, and Visual Studio 2005, which was released in November 2005.

You can view the Course Outline and Description here.

Please use the links at the bottom of the page to register via a Credit Card, Check or PayPal.

Here's what students of our November, 2005 class had to say about it:

  • “This course gives an excellent start into contemporary Microsoft development world: .NET Framework, Visual Studio development environment and C# language.
  • “I've taken courses on both coasts over the last 17 years from a variety of vendors, and this is -- hands down -- the best training I've ever received. Just wish I had discovered the RHS Group sooner.“
  • “I arrived a disheartened Java developer. RHS immersed me in C#. I'm leaving all jazzed and ready to be immediately productive in .NET 2.0. Thanks!“
  • “Excellent! I'm in love with .NET all over again!“
  • “The Best C#/.NET course on the planet!“
  • “RHS' C#/.NET BootCamp is an intense immersion into the new .NET Framework and the inner workings of the C# language. Very informative and aggressive educational experience. Definitely not your average 'fluff' training course, one I'll highly recommend.“
  • “I learned more in a week in this course than in a year of self-study.“

  • It’s a BootCamp: 9-10 hours a day, and you’ll have both pre-class Labs and Homework to do
  • You’ll receive 200+ pages of labs, 100+ pages of slides, and all code samples built in-class
  • Personal attention from Walt Ritscher, Michael Stiefel and Richard Hale Shaw

  • The best darn .NET 3.0 training around!
  • Seating is limited to 25 students: register today!

  • Who Should Attend

This is a course for those who have a background in Object-Oriented programming who are ready to move to the .NET Framework. Previous experience with Visual Studio or C# isn't required.

You should already be fluent with one of the following programming languages:

  • C++
  • Java
  • Smalltalk
  • Delphi
  • Some other OO programming language (VB6 is not one, sorry)
  • This means you should have some familiarity with:

  • Objects
  • Classes
  • Methods
  • Inheritance
  • Polymorphism
  • Type-safety
  • If you do not have previous experience with these or some other OO programming language, you should first take an introductory course in OO: our agenda is full, and there's no room to schedule OO on the program, sorry!

    Pre-Class Labs and Homework

All registered students will be emailed a URL for downloading the pre-class labs about 1 week prior to the course.

These are the super-easy, you-probably-won't-need-any-help-at-all labs which let us get the basics of creating .NET assemblies and VS2005 projects out of the way, up-front. And it'll let us focus on more in-depth content from the first day.

Richard says, “please plan to work these labs prior to attending class, and don't plan to work them during class; they'll take 2-3 hours to complete. If you have questions about them, you'll be able to email me personally for help (it's rare that anyone needs that help, but I'll be available nonetheless).”

    What You'll Receive

  • 5 days of Hands-On C# 2.0 and .NET 2.0 programming training, personally taught by the Master, Richard Hale Shaw
  • 10 hours of training every day (9am-7pm)
  • 600+ pages of labs
  • 200+ pages of slides
  • Continental breakfast, hot lunch, afternoon snacks.
  • A jump-start on .NET 2.0 and C# 2.0 that will leave you ready to build your own projects, components and applications.
  • Personal attention from Richard Hale Shaw
